At Buencafé, cultivating the future also means caring for the Earth

The FNC and Buencafé, the Colombian coffee growers’ company, wish to mark this important date by reaffirming our commitment to protecting the land—the very foundation that allows 100% Colombian freeze-dried coffee to reach your home.

Every cup of 100% Colombian coffee is the result of years of work and hundreds of conscious decisions made with a focus on caring for the land and the hands that work and protect it. More than 556,000 coffee-growing families ensure not only the abundance of their harvests but also the fertility and health of the soil they cultivate. Thanks to their ancestral knowledge, the adoption of good agricultural practices, and the ongoing research and training provided by the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia, these farmers have become guardians of nature, understanding that caring for the Earth is caring for the origin of everything we are.

At Buencafé, we understand that sustainability is not a trend, but a permanent responsibility. For decades, we have worked to reduce our environmental footprint, convinced that the future of Colombian coffee depends directly on the health of the surrounding ecosystems. Therefore, we promote production that is increasingly efficient, clean, and aligned with today’s environmental challenges.

Aligned with this objective, we have taken concrete steps toward an increasingly conscious and responsible operation: As of today, 100% of the electrical energy we use comes from renewable sources. Furthermore, thanks to optimization processes, we managed to reduce energy consumption per ton produced by 3.5% in 2025 compared to 2024, significantly decreasing our environmental impact.

Likewise, we continue to strengthen our circular economy model and the use of biomass, through which we have significantly reduced the use of fossil fuels by reusing nearly 97% of the waste from our operation.

Added to this is a 9.1% decrease in water consumption per ton of freeze-dried coffee produced compared to the previous year—the result of increasingly rigorous and conscious management of this vital resource.
