The announcement was made by SCA Executive Director Yannis Apostolopoulos and FNC General Manager Germán Alberto Bahamón during the first round of the 2025 World Barista Championship at Host Milano. This marks a new chapter in the relationship between the two organizations, who will work closely to gather top international professionals, competitors, and key players in the coffee value chain to take part in this major event.
This will be the second time a Latin American coffee-producing country is chosen as host, following the much-anticipated World of Coffee Panama 2026. In Colombia, the inclusion of the 2027 World Brewers Cup Championship marks the return of a global coffee competition to Bogotá—something that hasn’t happened since 2010, when the city hosted the World Barista Championship, seventeen years ago.
“Hosting World of Coffee 2027 in Bogotá, as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation, is a tribute to the legacy of Colombian coffee farmers and a reaffirmation of our country’s role as a global benchmark in quality, innovation, and sustainability” said FNC General Manager Germán Bahamón.
World of Coffee is a must-attend event not only for coffee lovers but for professionals across the industry—ranging from producers and roasters to baristas, retailers, and equipment manufacturers. Each edition offers a dynamic space for exhibitions, world coffee championships, educational workshops, and networking opportunities.
